    Pumpkins…..

    By mel | October 18, 2007

It’s been a pumpkin extravaganza here at the Freak Parade household. We went to the pumpkin patch and picked out some pumpkins. We carved one. We made pumpkin puree for pumpkin bread and muffins out of another. We toasted (er…roasted?) pumpkin seeds. We learned about pumpkins. We made pumpkin journals. We watched pumpkin mold. We watched pumpkin seeds sprout. It was fun, but I think we’re all pretty tired of pumpkins….well, unless you count the kids relentless hounding to return to the pumpkin patch…for the bounce houses and giant slides.

Here are some pictures of pumpkins, pumpkins, and more pumpkins…..

The Girl painted this pumpkin, then The Girl and The Boy came up with adjectives to describe our pumpkin to use in their pumpkin journals.

The Boy came up with the idea for the shish kabob skewers…of course.

Those white pumpkins are called Lumina pumpkins…..They were actually very pretty….before they were attacked by Sharpies.
